YOUTH GROUPS

Junior Youth Fellowship
All children grades 6-8 are invited to participate in the Junior Youth Fellowship.  This group meets the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 5:00 p.m. Leadership is offered by our associate pastor, Nora Foust.

In 2006, under the leadership of Josh and Anna Green, the Elementary Youth raised $5,000 for the Heifer Project.

Senior Youth
Led by our youth pastor, this group meets the first and third Sundays of each month in member's homes or in local coffee shops. This group is for youth in grades 9-12 and begins at 5:00 p.m.

As part of a comprehensive program, the youth participate in a range of activities framed with the intention of promoting growth through Bible Study, fellowship (including weekly recreation), service, and spiritual formation activities throughout the school year.

Vacation Bible School
Every summer our church provides a series of special Bible classes for children and adults alike. Some years VBS has been held on 4-5 consecutive nights. Other years VBS has been held one day a week for several consecutive weeks. For more information, please contac the church office.

Confirmation Classes
When a young person desires to become a member of the congregation, we insist that he or she first complete a year- long program of faith development in which the history and beliefs of the Christian church are studied. This is generally offered for youth in the 7th or 8th grades. Check with our pastor for more information.

Camp Scholarships
Johns River Valley Camp in Collettsville, NC provides a variety of camping opportunities each summer. Programs are offered for Juniors (grades 4-6), Middle High (grades 7-9), and Senior High (9-12). You can find a schedule by visiting: www.jrvc.org.

With the aid of our Endowment Fund, scholarships are made available to any of our youth wanting to attend summer camp at Johns River. Please check with our pastor for more information.

Lancaster Leadership Academy
With the aid of a grant received through the Lilly Foundation, Lancaster Seminary in Lancaster, PA now offers an annual Leadership Academy for youth 14-17. For six days, youth join adult and peer leaders on the LTS campus to explore questions about the Bible, worship, service and living a life of faith as leaders.

Participation in the academy also qualifies the youth to participate in a global experience the next summer. Youth from FRUCC have visited Ireland, South Africa and France.

Eligible youth are encouraged to apply for this program in the fall of each year. Contact our pastor for more information.
