General Info
The trustees are responsible for handling all ordinary and necessary matters relating to the church property. They meet the second Sunday of each month to assess the condition of the building and grounds and to plan for its upkeep. The trustee on-call schedule for the next year is:

Jan/Feb Terry Johnston
Mar/Apr Josh Drye
May/Jun Brad Widerman
Jul/Aug Wally Shearin
Sep/Oct Bill Hindman
Nov/Dec Mike Holt

You should contact one of the trustees for any of the following reasons:

  • You want to reserve a portion of the church for a family gathering or group meeting.
  • You need the church opened for a gathering or group meeting.
  • You want to borrow chairs, tables, or any other furniture and/or equipment from the church.
  • You notice something within the church that needs repairing.
  • You notice that the heating or cooling systems are not working properly.
  • You plan to attach a permanent fixture to any of the walls.
  • You plan to discard any church property.

Should you ever want to share with the Trustees a suggestion or a repair request, please find the Trustee notebook inside the workroom on the first floor and write down your information there. Verbal requests made before or after the service can easily be forgotten.

Want to Use the Church Building?
At one time in the life of our church, any group or organization wanting to use the church building could be fairly certain that there would be no conflict with another group wanting to use the same space at the same time. That’s not necessarily the case now. As our church family continues to grow, more programs and activities are being planned. And as the number of programs and activities increases, our building is being utilized more often. Therefore, the likelihood of different groups wanting the same space at the same time is increasing.
In order to eliminate any potential scheduling conflict, the church office requests that all groups within the church follow this simple procedure:

  • Check with the Ministry Assistant, the pastor or any trustee to make sure that another group has not already requested use of a particular room on the date you wish to use it.
  • If there is no other request for the space or date you desire, ask the Ministry Assistant, the pastor, or a trustee to reserve your request on the church calendar.
  • Each group is responsible for securing access to the building. Keys may be checked out on a temporary basis from either the Ministry Assistant, or the pastor.
  • Should heating or air conditioning be required, please contact one of the trustees ahead of time.
  • When your event is over, please make sure to clean up after yourself and turn off all lights and heating or a/c units.
If you use the Fellowship Hall

1. Unless otherwise instructed, you must take down and properly store all tables and chairs.
2. Empty all trash cans by taking the bags of garbage outside and placing them in the city garbage cans located in the alley. Reline cans with clean garbage bags.
3. Wipe up any spills, being sure that no sticky residue remains.
4. Use the dry mop to dust the entire floor area. Do not use this mop on any wet areas.
5. Be certain that the coffee pot is turned off and the filter unit emptied. Wash and replace all coffee pots used.
6. Re-set thermostat. (80 degrees for air conditioning or 60 degrees for heat)
7. Turn off all lights including any in the rest room areas.

Kitchen Clean-Up
There’s one simple rule for anyone using the kitchen, or any item contained within:
If you use it, you clean it! Please don’t leave a mess for someone else to deal with.
Individuals and groups are also asked to help keep the refrigerator free of clutter.
If you plan to keep something for later, please date it. Anything not labeled will be thrown out at the end of each month.

Volunteers Are Always Needed
You don’t have to be a Trustee to help keep our church building in “tip-top” condi-tion. We need everyone’s cooperation in helping keep our church neat and clean and attractive. Here are some little things all of us can do to make the job a little easier on everybody:

  • After a worship service, please take your trash (gum wrappers, etc.) with you. The pew racks are not a place to deposit your trash.
  • If you don’t want your worship bulletin, then help us recycle it. Don’t place it in a trash can.
  • The same applies for drink cans. Help us recycle. Containers are provided.
  • If a trash can fills up, empty it rather than leaving it for the next person.
