The North Carolina Presbyterian Pilgrimage
Over the last 12 years, numerous folks from our congregation have participated in a four-day retreat called The Pilgrimage. Offered through the Presbyterian Church, The Pilgrimage is a short course in Christianity which is designed to provide all Christians with a significant foundation for individual and community spiritual growth.
The weekend is an experience in Christian sharing and living. During the 72 hours, fourteen talks are presented. Five talks are given by pastors and nine by lay people. The weekend also includes chapel each day, communion, small group discussions, sharing,
music, singing, laughter, and prayer. The fourteen talks are discussed by the participants and include a Christian perspective on the following subjects: Ideals, Grace, Sacraments, Lay people in the Church, Importance of Study, Christian Action, Christian Leaders, Obstacles to the Life in Grace, Christian Community.
